What is the LMTEC?
The Local Missions Training/Exposure Course (LMTEC) is a free eight week course conducted on alternative Saturdays from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. The class consists of 20 participants from
different denominations engaged in an experiential, "hands on" tour of local organizations and ministries reaching out to people in need. The class is also designed to assist those who are trying to identify their calling more clearly. So many Christians go through their lives without ever finding the fulfillment they desire in their walk with Jesus Christ. By observing and assisting others in ministry we can examine ourselves and identify the passion that God has placed on our hearts and begin to live the life for Jesus Christ that we long for.
All that is required for participation is 1) faith in and love of Jesus Christ with a desire to serve Him through serving others and 2) a commitment to attend all 8 of the LMTEC sessions. Participants visit places such as: homeless shelters, pregnancy help centers, prisons, church based health centers, and ministries working with youth, gangs, the elderly and ex-prisoners and then gain confidence and skills in mission planning by participating in service projects such as feeding the homeless, or helping a family in need. The goal of LMTEC is to educate, empower and encourage the body of Christ to unite to do good works that glorify Jesus.
